We are currently working on reaching out to each of the 7 candidates for the Grosse Ponte Public School System board of education to ask a few questions about technology in the district.  Please check back in at our blog regularly as we will be updating the interviews between now and election day on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  Read past interviews here.

This Week:

BrianSummerfieldGrosse Pointe Public School System board of education candidate Brian Summerfield discusses how he believes technology should be funded in Grosse Pointe.

“I would not use fund equity to finance technology improvements. Maintaining adequate fund equity avoids unnecessary interest expenses (which are incurred when the district has to borrow money until it receives its state aid payment), improves the district’s credit rating allowing it to borrow, if necessary, at better rates, and protects the district from unexpected expenses or unexpected losses in revenue during the school year.”  Read the full interview here.
